Wendy and Tim didn’t want a traditional wedding with the normal customs. In fact, it was only a few weeks ago they decided to get married and secretly attached a very casual and fun marriage¬†to their going-away party. There was no fancy car, no walking down the aisle, no cutting of the cake and little of the “traditional” – just fun with close family and friends.

With very little planning, Wendy and Tim (and their daughter Adelaide) gathered a few close friends for a relaxed and un-staged day starting with some drinks at their hotel, a quick trip to the registry office to make it all official, then back to the hotel to prepare for the party at the NSW State Library. We tagged along for the whole day and just like Wendy and Tim, we too planned nothing, arranged nothing, and just took photos as the day unfolded. It was a challenge we loved and meant that every moment was indeed spur-of-the-moment.

By the time we got to the State Library it was evident that only a handful of people knew what was going on. One-by-one as the quests arrived they found out the news. It was so much fun seeing their reactions and the excitement continued well, well into the wee hours.
